What is a quality management system and what is expected from me therein?

Quality management systems comprise a large sets of rules to adhere strictly; some of them seemingly being contra-productive, time-consuming and bureaucratic. Transparency is needed on the awareness of its purpose of the quality management system, its construction and consequences for daily work that, if well designed, rather should enlighten the daily practice than be troublesome.

 

In this course, we will present and discuss the basic principles of quality management systems. We will visit
- the needs, differences and opportunities of quality control and quality assurance
- international organization, international standards and laboratory accreditation
- the purpose of the various clauses of  e.g., the  ISO/IEC17025:2017 and       
  ISO9001:2015, their interpretation and the consequences to the daily work
- importance of quantified criteria for decisions and statistical techniques
- importance and practice of non-conformance management
- documentation and preventing bureaucracy
- internal quality control and quality assurance
- instrument performance testing and calibration
- how to get started implementing quality management systems
